Cute little piggies

So these little piggies really aren't too much, but for this little girl (and mostly her mama) it's pretty exciting to FINALLY do some pigtails. I guess we've done pigtails for 2 months now, but now they are actually starting to look like pigtails. Yesterday for church we attempted two pigtails on top instead of 1 and they turned out looking more like part of a Halloween costume for an alien or bug or something.

I guess we'll stick to one on top with the curly hair in the back. But 2 in the back looks cute now.

And this little girl loves to play with her daddy and look at anything her daddy is looking at-exhibit a some random thing on the computer, but she wants to be right by him.

She also is a smart little stinker who wanted some treats for when she's cruising around the house so she dumped the entire Teddy Grams bag into the "treat" holder on her car.
She is a never ending source of entertainment that's for sure. (I wanted to remember this comical memory so I'm writing it in here since this serves as my journal, but it may or may not interest you) I am pretty sure we are the world's worst parents when it comes to sleeping, but really she is too much fun and she just makes us laugh so much that we give in WAY too much. o/well I think it will be different with #2, but for now-whatever works. So with that, she had gone to sleep EARLY (I didn't know if it would last cause it was so early) last night (in her bed) and slept for a while, woke up, heard things, decided to stay awake (happily) so when we went to bed, she just figured she was going to bed WITH us, climbed in our bed-snuggled up to within 2 centimeters of me and goes to "sleep." Ryan and I were laughing about what the funny girl she is and suddenly she pops up and says FUNNY, then lays back down and goes back to sleep. Then all of a sudden she starts climbing over me to sleep by Ryan, as soon as she could sleep by both parents she promptly went right to sleep til 8 this morning. Is it soo sad that neither of us really care that she sleeps with us sometimes? Don't worry this won't last, for the most part she sleeps by herself in her own bed, but at times ... Here she is some random night when I thought her sleeping position was so funny and she picked her own pajamas- top to one and some random shorts

oh and another funny Alli moment this weekend (this keeps getting longer and longer) is Ryan brought some cookies home from the store (he had to get treats for sharing time so I asked for some chocolate too) and he asked if I wanted them in the freezer, well Alli heard cookie so she started asking for a gookie and proceeded to tell us (in complete Alli sentences, which the only word we understood was gookie) that she wanted one, but it made us laugh because she was trying to hard to tell us and she was talking like she knew what she what she was saying. She also will try to make up signs if she doesn't know the word for what she wants. Yesterday at church she wanted to wash her hands so she was pointing to the sink rubbing her hands together. I love that she will try to communicate so much and will mimic ANYTHING we say. Yesterday "dumb" got eliminated from my vocabulary as I "cursed" a neighbor dog that was barking while Alli was trying to go to sleep and "suck" got eliminated from Ryan's vocab after the fly he was trying to kill kept eluding him. She also entertains us by naming her body parts-toe, foot, finger, hand, neck, armpit, eyes, ears, nose, head, hair. Well now I think I've updated about everything going on around here!

Fun Fall Happenings Part 2

Last Saturday we went to the Scarecrow Festival and had a total blast, seriously. I was kind of skeptical at first, but thought it'd be fun to check out so went. Ryan and I raced each other on the bungee inflatable, which was so fun and really comical to watch, as we flipped and slid back. I am glad my mom and Phil came with us because she caught some pretty good pics of Ryan, took the video, and oh yeah watched Alli while Ryan and I reverted back to 10 year olds! And I have to point out that I won this little competition since Ryan's bean bags (which were WAY farther out than mine) kept falling off so by default I WON!
There were so many big inflatable slides so we took turns taking Alli down them, she loved them and we loved them. I took her in this inflatable dragon/spook house which she did not love at all since you were in this tube with hanging things, but when Ryan and Phil raced through the obstacle course and Alli and I followed SLOWLY behind (climbing things one handed on bouncy ground takes a long time), but she LOVED going through that. They also had a train ride, carnival type games for the kids, and 2 climbing walls and the bungee trampoline. The line for the trampoline was like 2 hours long, so we didn't wait but I would have loved to go on it had it been shorter. Instead we just climbed the walls, twice, but it was dark by then so all of the rest of our pics of the slides and everything didn't turn out.

Fun Fall Happenings

This month has been pretty fun so far. The first weekend in October we always go down to St. George for the marathon since my mom has run it EVERY year since I can remember. This was her 22nd time running it! She did great and qualified for the Boston maratho, just like always. She is such an inspiration to me because growing up she always ran, every morning except Sunday, but she would go ridiculously early so she was back before any of us kids had to be up. I seem to have trouble doing this any day of the week, but need to be better :) She is in great shape and I am so thankful for her example of dedication to something she loves, even though it has been difficult at times. Every year she trains and trains, doing longer and longer runs to make sure she is ready for the marathon. And I have to say the first year I ran the marathon she beat me by at least ten minutes, if not 15. And the second year we were able to run it together, which was really cool, especially since it was sooo cold and sooo rainy and windy and we'd both been up with a sick Alli since Ryan was out of town. We had a lot of fun going down and watching her, PLAYING in the POOL, and just hanging out relaxing watching CONFERENCE!

We made a fort in the hotel Saturday morning before we went to find her running.

Us attempting to run her in, we didn't turn around quickly enough so we ran behind for about 20 feet-it was a nice thought :) Phil actually ran her in the last few miles. She's quick, even at mile 22 or 23!

Alli enjoying the free ice cream at the park!

Hanging out at the pool

Here's Alli about to jump in to Ryan, she really started enjoying jumping in, so much that she didn't really care if someone was there to catch her :) made me a LITTLE nervous!

Just chillin with dad at the pool

just chillin watching conference, she really did wear clothes the majority of the trip.

of course when we went hiking Ryan and Phil took off to climb the highest part they could see.

Allu wanted to go with them :)
And just a few more hiking pics, it was super windy when we all got to this high plateau area. notice the windblown hair, it was pretty crazy, but we had a lot of fun!

Watch What You Say

My little mini has definitely started copying whatever we say or do. This morning as we were getting ready I couldn't find something and I said dang it, not 3 seconds later we hear dane it. We all got a good laugh (Alli too since we were laughing) and I was glad that I didn't say something I wouldn't want her to repeat. Lately her new favorite things are anything with a baby on it (even the baby lotion or wash bottle with the picture on the front), but especially her baby dolls. They must watch her favorite show with her, eat with her etc. and it is cute because if she thinks they are thirsty she makes the same panting sound as she does if she wants a drink so sometimes we'll give her a drink and she gives it to the doll. She's also good at sharing her milk bottle with them, guess she doesn't want them to get hungry. Another thing she loves is her shoes, especially the ones she wore last winter that I need to put away (we went through all of her clothes so now there are a ton in her room that I need to take downstairs to store). She brings me shoes everyday that are too small and she'll want to wear them, but we tell her they are baby shoes so now she wants her "baby" to wear her baby socks and shoes. She wants to do anything we are doing right now and feels gypped if she doesn't have the same dip we are having or anything else. I just didn't want to forget some of the cute/funny things she does right now. This picture is really blurry, but you get the idea, I think she was moving as I was trying to take the picture. She wanted to watch her show, but she wanted her doll to watch it with her so she got her doll all situated on the chair with her.

Time to Stop Being Lazy

Lately I seem to enjoy looking at ya'll's (how bout that spelling) posts way more than putting up my own, but I figure I need to post about what we've been up to since it's been awhile, so here's a start.
We mostly just hang out and play with Alli, which sometimes includes dance parties. She'll tell you sake sake sake (shake, shake, shake), do her Happy feet-she got this from Julia, spin move, and just bounce around-pretty much whenever she hears music whether it is a song or the end credits to a t.v. show :) Sorry the videos are sideways, I guess you can turn your head or turn your computer-either way :)

Or maybe we've just sang some "Old MacDonald" about 10-15 times each day as Alli claps her hands and says "Ono" until you start singing, and it has to be the right song-she's not fooled!
We've visited Thanksgiving Point's farm with friends and their cute cute little children (sadly I think Alli was the one who enjoyed that the most, she kept saying bye bye to the animals and blowing them kisses, and our friends were a little sad, poor kids!).
Maybe mama just had too much fun at THRILLER. Ryan did the shirts so we got FREE tickets (if you go check them out, they are gothic but pretty dang cool!), since I'd never been and wanted to go. I loved it, the dancers are amazing! It made me REALLY miss dancing-A LOT!!! My legs were seriously aching watching, too bad I was never quite that good, o/well.

Maybe we've just been too busy helping daddy clean out the car because we love being with him when he gets home! ( I actually missed the cutest picture because I didn't have the camera, but when I first peeked out to check on them, my heart melted because Ryan was leaning over telling Alli something and she was just paying such close attention-so ya have to settle for this, sorry!)
Or perhaps we've just been hanging out with friends and their adorable tiny babies! Alli really loved poor little Raegan. When I first showed Alli the baby she just looked, then I laid her on the bed for a second and when I went to pick her back up Alli pointed back to the bed, she wanted she little friend back. From that moment on they were bffs and Alli needed to be RIGHT by Raegen, if not holding her. She actually did pretty good, except for the fact that she wanted to point out Raegan's eyes, nose ... by touching. But she did love the little lady. Maybe someday Alli will have a little sister of her own-not right now though :)
We have also been "enjoying" doing a little preserving of some fruits. Not too much, just a little bit. But it has been fun. So far we've done corn, peaches, tomatoes, applesauce, and apple pie filling. And the best part is that so far so good-it's all turned out great!
And probably the most exciting thing we've been up to lately is some Halloween fun with Julia and Audrey (pictures are coming, but sadly I have none on my camera). Yep, my sister-in-law's sister was getting married so they all came out and we got to see them a few times. We loved it! We decorated cookies, went to breakfast while Carli was getting married and we were fortunate enough to get to watch the cute little girls, and went to the "Fancy Castle" as Julia called the temple. We also got to go to Gardner Village on Julia's birthday :) and see the witches. We had a lot of fun! Annie's mom and sister-in-law came along with Jody's kids so there were lots of people to play with! Alli LOVED seeing Julia and Audrey and when I told her we were going to see them she kept saying Juwea and Audey. Well, that's what we've been up to lately! What about you?
